Coach Background Checks

All BCRL coaches are required to clear a background check.  If the league we participate in does not handle this, it is required to submit to our system.

BCRL will:

· Complying with state and federal laws.

· Obtaining written permission from applicants.

· Defining the nature and scope of the background check.

· Treating everyone fairly and equally.

· Allowing applicants the chance to explain or clarify negative information.

· Evaluating criminal history on a case-to-case basis.

· Using a reputable background check provider.

BCRL reserves all rights to disqualify any coach for any reason. Some possible disqualifications are but are not limited to.

· Felony convictions

· Any crime involving children

· Serious misdemeanors

· Current drug use or past drug abuse

· Dishonorable discharge from military service

· History of domestic violence

· DUI/DWI

· Unreported past crimes
